Stainless steel as standard
In the Urban automatic calf feeders all the metal
parts are made from stainless steel. You’re always on the safe side with stainless steel containers.
They are easier to clean and last longer. This is where Urban makes the difference. The stainless steel parts are specially important when it comes to the feeding stations since these are sited below in the excrement and are therefore strongly exposed to corrosion.
Simple, maintenance-free and fault-free dosing of the milk powder
One important feature is the robust powder bag for the milk replacer in every Urban calf feeder. This practical solution means that the use of agitators can be dispensed with, since the powder always slides forward by itself. Compared with rigid containers this means that rotating parts are no longer needed. The powder bag is simpler to work with, is wear-free and above all works trouble-free.

Mixing bowl heating as standard
All Urban mixing bowls are provided with a heating system - even the basic versions. Types U20 and U30 have electric heating. This means that the mix container always has a constant mixing bowl temperature. Other types of feeder systems can cool down between times, which results in the heated water immediately cooling down a little. If the precise desired temperature is not reached then of course the powder may not dissolve properly.
Precise measurement of the amount of any remaining milk
All Urban calf feeders measure the precise amount of remaining milk which a calf has not drunk. This means the farmer can immediately see how much milk a calf has not drunk. Other types of feeder systems only measures whether the container is full or empty. Further the milk in the heated mixing bowl stays at the same temperature level whilst other types of feeder systems feed the next calf with milk which has cooled down.
Trend-setting cleaning
All Urban computer controlled calf feeders have automatic mix container cleaning with an alternating programme for acid and alkaline detergent. For whole milk operation a stainless steel heat exchanger and a fully automatic cleaning system (acid/alkaline) are built in as standard.

The machine learns to recognise calves
Each calf has its own individual drinking speed. Urban computer controlled calf feeders record and store this characteristic for each calf. The alarm is set off only when a particular calf deviates from its own drinking speed by a specified amount. This helps to significantly reduce the number of false alarms.
