Urban calf hutches provide the newborn calves with optimal conditions in their first days of life. The material is light and yet stable. It is insensitive to UV radiation, heat or cold. At the same time the UV rays eliminate harmful germs and bacteria and thus make a contribution to the health of the animals. The white surface of the polyester deflects the UV rays and thus prevents the hutch from heating up. This is specially important in hot summers.
Made from one mold
The hutches are produced in one form and are free of cracks and splits. This avoids drafts and prevents respiratory illnesses. And there are no opportunities for infectious agents to establish themselves there

Good air circulation
The shape of the calf hutch is decisive for ventilation without creating drafts. Fresh outside air enters the hutch from below, bringing in oxygen. It warms up a little inside the hutch and then rises upwards. In doing so it takes the used air and the humidity with it and then flows out through the frontal air outlets. This air circulation keeps the hutch dry and provides an optimum climate for the young animals.
Special coating
The smooth internal and external surfaces are dirt-repellent and easy to clean. On the inside the fibreglass-strengthened polyester is coated with a special gel. This protects the glass fibres and makes cleaning with the high pressure cleaner easier.
Practical to use
Urban calf hutches with external grill are easy to set up. The light weight of the fibreglass-strengthened polyester means that one person can move a single hutch without effort. If the hutch is opened up the whole unit can be moved easily on its solid wheels. The removable front grid can be used to block the calf inside the hutch. Mucking out the hutches with the loader is easy when the hutches are opened up.
